Process Optional and Operating Logic

The thermal process temperature is normally controlled in PID mode by a digital temperature regulator + tyristors installed in the control panel.

The control of the Thermal Process and Operating Logic can be modified with the following optional:

  • Probe for Part temperature control:
    In addition to the temperature probes meant for the process and for mitigation of temperatures, the oven can also be fitted with additional probes to check the temperature of the parts subjected to thermal treatment or to check the temperature inside the volumes to make sure these comply with the defined tolerances. In certain cases, the part probes may be “active”, participating in the process logic, without limiting themselves to measuring the temperature.

  • Daily/weekly time switch automatic and programmable switching ON-switching OFF.
    For the sake of safety, it is paired with an acoustic device that warns the operators when the oven starts automatically.
  • Cycle Timer for programming heating cycles with predefined operating times at predefined temperatures. Stops the heating process automatically when the cycle time is complete.
    It is paired with a light device (Blue) which lights up when the cycle time is complete.
  • Processor thermoregulator. This is the successive evolutionary step of the standard temperature regulator. Makes it possible to upload up to 10 work cycles and 100 segments.
  • PLC. AMARC has developed its own software for the control of all the logic and process structures of the entire standard machines park.
    The software is designed for installation on PLC Siemens S7-1200 hardware with which it is possible to associate a 4″ (model KTP400) or 7″ (model KTP700) Hmi Siemens colour touch screen panel.
    The PLC controls all the following functions:

    • Heating mode ON OFF or PID;
    • Manual or timed heating cycle;
    • Cycle with timed programming;
    • Cycle with recipes;
    • Controls up to 4 independent zones;
    • Possibility of creating N Users with different access levels;
    • Recording data;
    • Alarms Log and Temperature trends that can be downloaded on Csv file;
    • Batch Management (with or without Bar Code reader);
    • Connection to the customer’s IT system (two options):
    • Opt.1. Control from local PC inside local network LAN;
    • Opt.2. Interfacing with the Customer’s supervision system by means of profinet protocol.

Air extraction and renewal system

When the process leads to undesirable (if particularly foul-smelling or thick) or dangerous (due to possible concentrations of gases or toxic, flammable or explosive fogs) exhalations, a fumes extraction system can be installed to generate a dilution or exchange of the internal air volume.

The operating logic of the extraction cycle may vary depending on the need:

  • In On-Off mode, always On or always Off;
  • Timed and interlocked with the heating cycle;
  • Timed and interlocked with the heating cycle and with door lock system.

When the heating cabinet is provided with door lock, safety devices are always provided with anti-entrapment function this option can be associated with the installation of a Gas Detector to monitor the concentration of gases or explosive fogs or those severely harmful for health. In the request phase, the customer must indicate the gas to be monitored in order to define the sensor suitable for the scope of the supply.

Painting

The standard painting process involves: cleaning and treatment of the surfaces followed by the first “primer” coat with two-component epoxy paint and two successive processes consisting of polyurethane paint.

The standard color is RAL7035 (light grey). By indicating the required RAL category, the AMARC oven can be supplied in the desired color.

For installations in saline zones or zones with risk of high interference with corrosive agents, the oven can be subjected to special painting processes, defined by specific regulatory standards, which define the methods for preparation of the surfaces, sand-blasting specifications, type of paint to be used for each “coat” and the thickness of the coat. In this case a painting report is issued which certifies the quality profile used.

Materials

The starting construction of AMARC industrial ovens involves the use of carbon steel subjected to painting cycle for outer coating, while galvanized steel is used for the interior.
Depending on the installation site, process, materials used or simply to satisfy the customer’s standards, the oven may be made of AISI304 stainless steel (or other type of steel as requested).
In both cases, the set up may be required:

From the control panel enclosure to the ventilation unit to the doors closure systems, practically all the accessories of the AMARC ovens can be supplied in stainless steel on request.

Moisture extraction systems

For ovens dedicated for the drying processes a moisture extraction system can be provided with their reading probes.

Doors

The AMARC industrial ovens are normally supplied with swing door (single or double leaf, depending on the model or door span and manual opening).

As alternative to the swing door with manual opening, the AMARC oven may be equipped with:
When the oven is provided with automatically operated rolling shutter door (or other devices), at the same time it is also provided with safety devices such as optic barriers to stop movement immediately in case of human presence and door unlock devices with anti-entrapment function.

Every type of door can also be provided with an inspection window.

It is normally combined (but can also be supplied separately) with an internal light at the inspection window to facilitate visual inspection during the work cycle.

Heating Cabinet Bottom

Depending on the loading method and process, it can be supplied:

The materials used for construction of the optional mentioned above normally follow the general definition of the materials selected for the interior and exterior of the heating cabinet. However, a separate configuration can be requested. For example, chamber body materials according to standard materials and insulated oven made of stainless steel.

UE Reference
Standards

All Amarc industrial ovens, from the standard series FSE150 – FSE250 oven to the custom oven, fall within the field of application of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and refer to harmonised standards and European standards as regards the safe construction of machinery.

The design of safe ovens is of absolute importance, just as much as mechanical sturdiness or process performance.

Operation

Operation of an
Industrial Oven

The heat transfer process mainly takes place by air convection. A resistive unit receives an air flow which is then directed onto the material through slits meant for the purpose.
The process is “controlled” by a digital temperature regulator installed inside the control panel and paired with a probe installed in a suitable position.
Research into air flows is of fundamental importance since it allows us to obtain:

The best possible heat distribution;

A significantly faster temperature ramp;

Heat transfer as required.

The air flows are tailored to suit the shapes of the parts that need to be heated and the required temperature accuracy.
The flows may be:

Horizontal

Vertical

Mixed horizontal/vertical

Well-designed air flows and electric power modulation allow extremely even temperatures to be obtained inside the oven.
AMARC can design ovens with +/- 2°C tolerance with respect to the empty chamber temperature setting.
All AMARC ovens are subjected to «mapping» of the temperatures by qualified laboratories using certified calibration instruments.

Applications

There are a large number of applications for AMARC industrial ovens in industrial heating processes and they differ from sector to sector.
The most common applications (even though they are not the only ones) are:
Polymerisation, Drying, Pre-heating, Thermal treatment, Thermoforming processes, Stress-relief, Stabilisation, Curing, Hardening, Vulcanisation, Post-heating, Maintenance.

Construction

The AMARC industrial ovens consist of a welded carbon steel frame to which the load-bearing walls are fixed, made of suitably assembled metal sheets and panels made of insulating and “absestos free” mineral wool, i.e. devoid of any asbestos component.

Structural sturdiness

The industrial ovens are designed to run in continuous cycle, withstanding the stresses and undesirable impacts during the loading and unloading steps over a long period.

Thermal Insulation

The structure is designed without thermal bridges and suitably insulated, thereby ensuring minimum dispersal, efficient heat exchange and resulting energy saving.

Materials

The standard construction comprises: the external body of the oven made of carbon steel painted.
Oven interior in galvanised steel. Sealed construction with seam-welded panels:

Industrial Ovens
